I tried using Freesync using Displayport on my MSI RX Vega 64 liquid and the ghosting is terrible, coming from a TN panel it's unplayable to me. The specs are 2560x1440p 144hz 4ms Freesync IPS (AHVA) panel by AU Optronics. I just bought myself the Acer XF270HUA which is the new version with the frameless design. They say it's optimized, one said by AMD in the driver. On the Acer forums people I believe representing ACER say that the overdrive is working and is the reason the option cannot be changed on the monitors OSD. Maybe it is just the shock of going from a dual monitor setup to one for now, losing 2/3 of my screen space.I am writing here so there is a record of this issue, I plan to share it with AMD and Acer but mostly AMD as I know they will want to do something about this.

Since selling my ultrawide revently, I have been left with my secondary monitor Dell sp2309w, 2048 x 1152 (uncommon resolution, I know) and I find myself hating it, missing the field of view and immersion of the ultrawide, which makes me worried if I get any of the above monitors the feeling will persist. Colours from ips are nice, but I do not do any colour critical work, so that is also flexible, The third option is the LG monitor, VA 1440p 16:9 32' 144hz VA for $250 that is going to be on sale from consto on dec 2nd, if it can be ordered before it's sold out. I enjoy shooter games, but do not perform to a high level, so anything from 1-5ms screen would be fine to me. What we landed on was 27' 1440p 16:9 144hz ips Acer for $300 but microcenter also has a TN variant for $230 and while I do appreciate ips, I do not know if it is worth an extra $70 usd to me. I have a vega 56, so I know I probably can't get to that in most games, but would like to choose one or the other depending in the game. I want to upgrade, but with my budget of ~300-350 usd I know I cannot upgrade everything, and something will need to give. I just sold my 1080p ultrawide, ips, 75hz. Preamble: I am in Canada, my friend is in the states where he will be picking me up something, testing it for me, and sending it along with my family who is passing by anyway.
